Introduction
Laser powder bed fusion (LPBF), as one of the popular additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, offers lots of potetials in fabrication of parts with complex geometries. However, the layer-by-layer nature of fabrication in LPBF results in the formation of various internal and surface defects. Hence, applying post-processing methods is essential to modulate the negative influences of the these defects on the mechanical properties of LPBF materials [1].
Objectives
In present study, effects of gradient severe shot peening (GSSP) as a novel mechanical surface treatment are investigated on fatigue behavior improvement of LPBF AlSi10Mg samples.
