Introduction
In water acoustically excited, cavities form, grow and collapse. When the cavities collapse, shockwaves are released. Since the shockwaves is known to be strong enough to plastically deform a metal surface, applicability of the acoustic cavitation-based metal peening has been studied and experimentally demonstrated [1].
Objectives
Conventional methods are ineffective or costly for peening the area with the limited accessibility. Herein, we demonstrate efficacy of the acoustic cavitation for peening the areas which are considered inaccessible.
