Introduction
Several studies have been carried out to investigate the effect of conventional shot peening on the bending fatigue of austempered ductile iron (ADI) [1-4]. However, the effect of duplex peening on ADI is still unexplored.
Objectives
Therefore, this study employs a holistic approach involving the characterisation of as-treated and shot peened ADI specimens to investigate the potential of duplex shot peening of Cu-Ni ADI as a means to further improve the fatigue behaviour when compared to conventional shot peening.
